PCM Progressive Cavity Pumps

PCM logoPCM brings more than 90 years of fluid-handling manufacturing experience to industries worldwide. RC Beach & Associates represents PCM’s engineered progressing cavity pumps in Florida for sludge feed, transfer, loading and conveyance in municipal water and wastewater applications.

Moineau™ Technology

Every PCM progressing cavity pump is built on Moineau™ technology, named for its inventor, René Moineau. A precision-machined stainless steel helical rotor turns inside a moulded elastomer helical stator. Together they form a double chain of sealed, honeycomb-shaped cavities that travel spirally along the axis of the pump without ever changing shape or volume — the product is carried through the pump rather than pushed, sheared or churned.

That geometry is what suits the pump to the two fluids that give centrifugal equipment the most trouble: fragile products that degrade under shear, and viscous products that resist being moved at all. Thickened and dewatered municipal sludge is both.

What that means in service

Maintenance In Place

Maintenance In Place is standard across the PCM EcoMoineau™ MX range. The stator and/or rotor is replaced in five steps, with the pump still bolted in its installation — no breaking piping, no lifting the unit out, no re-alignment on restart.

The maintenance window shrinks accordingly, and downtime and life-cycle cost drop with it. RC Beach stocks replacement stators and rotors and provides field service for PCM equipment across Florida.

Turnkey Pump Systems

PCM also builds turnkey skid systems that shorten the integration of a pumping solution into an existing process. A ready-to-use skid arrives with the pump, accessories and control panel mounted and wired — one delivery, one set of connections, one commissioning visit.

Standard configurations cover common municipal duties, and PCM engineers custom skids where the application calls for it. Built to a high standard, the systems hold down long-run maintenance and spare-parts cost. Skid packages are commonly paired with chemical feed systems for polymer conditioning ahead of dewatering equipment.
